Southern Avionics is pleased to announce their contract with VT Communications, Ltd., of Gloucestershire, England to provide quantity 14 (fourteen) SC200 Differential GPS Reference Station Transmitters and 28 (twenty-eight) Antenna Tuning units which will to be used to replace the existing GLA DGPS Network in England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
VT Communications, Ltd. will integrate the Southern Avionics SC200 transmitters with GPS Reference Stations, Integrity Monitors, FSK Dual Modulators and related equipment provided by Kongsberg Seatex AS, of Trondheim, Norway.
Each SC200 also has the capability to switch and operate either a Main or Standby antenna. For that reason, each site is provided with 2 (two) ATU.
The first three SC200 transmitters and ATU have shipped and the balance is scheduled for March delivery. The installation of the DGPS stations by VT Communications, Ltd., is expected to occur in summer 2009. The dual configuration, 200 watt SC200 transmitters are the result of a complete upgrade and re-assessment of the previous SC product line.
The new SC200 incorporates universal input power supply, integrated switching power inverters, Front panel LCD, Ethernet interface for monitoring and control, fully shielded RF assemblies and coaxial relays for RF transfer, sealed membrane keyboard, CAP 670 compliance, Renesas microprocessor controller, enhanced software, reduced overall wiring, improved form factor and user-friendly operability.
These are now standard features of the SC Series transmitters which is also available in 500 watts output power.
