SCARAB Portable NDB

The SCARAB transmitter and Autotuning Antenna Coupler are housed together in a single weatherproof enclosure and meet applicable requirements of the FCC and ICAO.

Special Features Include:

• Voice modulation of the transmitter
• Two class AB push-pull power amplifiers are connected in parallel to produce the output power
• A low power level control adjusts the output power to an intermediate power level for tune-up and preset low level power operation
• An automatic shutdown circuit shuts down the transmitter if there is no tone, continuous tone, extreme signal distortion, or if the power falls below a user adjustable value
• With the optional battery charger system, the batteries are kept at full charge when AC is present and the transmitter is switched to batteries automatically when AC is lost
